Nose | The robustness of the three woods is immediately apparent with big aromas of treacle toffee intermingling with sweet spice accents of cinnamon and nutmeg. |
Palate | Robust flavours of caramelised peaches and mango marry notes of toasted almonds and walnuts, giving tremendous depth and complexity. |
Finish | A layered finish with initial notes of concentrated jammed berries that lead to silky milk chocolate notes. |
Bushmills 16 Year Old is a marriage of single malts that were matured for at least 16 years in hand-selected Oloroso sherry butts and bourbon barrels before being finished in port pipes for up to a year. This triple cask process transforms the colour to a beautiful ruby red while also adding layers of juicy sun-ripened dark fruit and berries, complex almond nuttiness and a treacly vanilla spice. This whiskey is best enjoyed neat or over ice.
