Taketsuru 21 Pure Malt is a blended malt named in honor of Masataka Taketsuru, the father of Japanense whisky. He is the first Japanese who mastered whisky-making in Scotland and produced the genuine whisky in Japan. Masataka’s vision of whisky was formed by his experience of whisky was formed by his experience in Scotland, and he learned that the rich nature resources surrounding a distillery were essential for whisky-making. Based on his though, he selected two place, Yoichi and Miyagikyo, and built two distilleries there. This whisky, stored and matured for 21 years or more in oak casks, is characterised by a deep, mature nose and an excellent balance palate and a powerful, long-lasting finish.
