Port Askaig 8 Year Old is a single malt whisky crafted with a new recipe for 2023. It is a soft and approachable whisky with definitive Islay character. Designed to capture the essence of Islay, its beauty and terroir is reflected in the liquid, from bonfire smoke and peaty bogs to the salty sea air.
Port Askaig 8 Year Old is matured in a selection of bourbon barrels, toasted American Oak barrels, PX sherry butts, and refill hogsheads for a minimum of 5 years.
Nestled on ancient granite rocks alongside the Sound of Islay channel, the village of Port Askaig has long been considered the gateway to Islay - from settlers and traders of the past to the tourists and whisky explorers of today. Much like their namesake, Port Askaig Single Malts are the gateway to this beautiful island’s whiskies.
