A small batch release of cask strength Islay Single Malt. As each batch will be bottled at cask strength and the cask recipe changed, every year the taste will vary. The cask selection of batch #01-2023 is a mix of first fill toasted Bourbon barrels and refill American Oak Hogshead, creating layers of sweetness and zest, intertwined with the classic smoke of Islay.
No more than 60 carefully curated casks will make up each batch. Each individual batch will have a unique code and show the cask breakdown, enabling the consumer to contrast, compare, and explore the different notes that the wood and blending brings to the whisky.
Nestled on ancient granite rocks alongside the Sound of Islay channel, the village of Port Askaig has long been considered the gateway to Islay - from settlers and traders of the past to the tourists and whisky explorers of today. Much like their namesake, Port Askaig Single Malts are the gateway to this beautiful island’s whiskies.
